Our Approach to Safety and Training

Employee safety is ingrained in our company culture. Our dedicated training staff stays up to date on the latest in safety through organizations like OSHA, EPA, and ISSA. We have a robust training curriculum and provide frequent in-person and video training.

Safety Standards

BMS closely follows OSHA, EPA, and CDC guidelines regarding safety and training. Additionally, through our Green Seal and ISSA CIMS GB (with honors) certifications, our employees also benefit from training focused on cleaning for health and sustainability.

PPE and Health Screening

BMS front line team members are provided the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all types of scenarios, from chemical handling to prevention of exposure to blood-borne pathogens and virus’ such as COVID-19. Training is conducted on a periodic basis to remind staff of the proper ways of donning and doffing PPE. Staff is screened daily for symptoms of COVID-19. BMS utilizes an online tracking and contact tracing application.

Pathogen Safety

BMS takes every precaution to minimize and prevent staff exposure to pathogens. Our staff is provided pathogen training. This includes (but not limited to) epidemiology, symptoms, how pathogens may be transmitted, how to prevent exposure under various scenarios, and how to handle situations of potential exposure.

Accident Safety

The nature of our business makes the risk of accidents real. BMS attributes our excellent record of few accidents to the time and effort we put into safety training. BMS provides frequent and ongoing accident prevention training. The training covers numerous types of situations, such as slips and falls, ladder safety, chemical safety, electrical and fire safety, handling sharp objects, and much more.
