Building Maintenance Service LLC (BMS) is pleased to announce this week it was awarded ISSA’s Cleaning Industry Management Standard-Green Building (CIMS-GB) with honors re-certification. This is the fifth time the company has received the designation.
WHY CIMS-GB IS IMPORTANT
The CIMS-GB certification process is a comprehensive assessment by an independent, accredited assessor. To become certified, a company must demonstrate a commitment to delivering environmentally preferable services that meet customer expectations. The certification principles ensure BMS can provide green cleaning services and assist customers in achieving points under the LEED-Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) Green Building Rating System.
Fewer than 10 percent of cleaning companies earn CIMS-GB certification with Honors. An even more unique achievement for BMS in earning this certification five times. CIMS-GB certification reflects BMS’ capability to help customers earn LEED points and shows our depth of commitment to sustainability in all aspects of our business.

CULTURE OF SUSTAINABILITY
In addition to the CIMS-GB Certification, BMS also maintains its Green Seal-42 (GS-42) Certification for Commercial and Institutional Cleaning Services. GS-42 requires companies to have a green cleaning program that protects human health and the environment by reducing toxicity, waste, and chemical exposure to building occupants and custodial staff.
