BMS Building Maintenance Service (BMS) is pleased to announce this week it was awarded ISSA’s Cleaning Industry Management Standard-Green Building (CIMS-GB) with honors re-certification. This is the third time the company has received the designation.

WHY CIMS-GB IS IMPORTANT

BMS Building Maintenance Services - ISSA CIMS GB Certified with Honors

The CIMS-GB certification process is a comprehensive assessment by an independent, accredited assessor. To become certified a company must demonstrate a commitment to the delivery of environmentally preferable services that also meet customer expectations. The principles of the certification ensure BMS can provide green cleaning services and assist customers in achieving points under the LEED-Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) Green Building Rating System.

The “with honors” designation establishes BMS in a league of only 1% of janitorial companies in the nation who exceed the certification requirements.

BMS’S CULTURE OF SUSTAINABILITY

“This award aligns with BMS’s corporate mission, which is to seamlessly deliver clean, healthy and eco-friendly environments. We are proud to have created a company-wide culture of sustainability that exists within all our business practices. Our BMS Green Clean℠ program not only ensures our cleaning methods are sustainable, but that our operating procedures, staff training, quality control program, product and equipment selection, and investments in technology are as well.” said Michael Doherty, President, BMS.

BMS Building Maintenance Services - Green Seal

In addition to the CIMS-GB Certification, BMS also maintains its Green Seal-42 (GS-42) Certification for Commercial and Institutional Cleaning Services. GS-42 requires companies to have a green cleaning program that protects human health and the environment by reducing toxicity, waste, and exposure of chemicals to both building occupants and custodial staff.

BMS’s LEED-AP O+M certified staff regularly partner with its clients to help them achieve points under LEED-EBOM.
